Teacher Gifts!!!

I had a super fun time this year with teacher gifts! I found this other craft blog, and she does mostly wood and vinyl stuff, which is what I'm all about. I love it! Anyway, I just made the teachers name signs for their desks. I tried to get my kids to pry a bit and find out what colors their teachers liked, and Isabel was the only one that really followed through with that. Quinn's answer always was, they love the rainbow mom! Sigh. I had to make a lot this year because of my friend Misty again! Dang you! She makes gifts not only for the regular teachers but for all the music, art, pe teachers too. So I thought, I'd better start doing that too so they'd know we appreciate them as well. I think they turned out so fun!
So they were pretty easy really, I just cut 2x4 to whatever size fit their name best. The lettering was done with my cricut (I love that thing), and it is 2" tall. The lettering, not the cricut. :) You paint the blocks whatever color you want and I just used the wrong end of a paint brush and did the dots all the way around with more paint. Slap the vinyl on when it is dry and then I sprayed them all with a clear varnish spray. You tie tulle around the top block and hot glue a flower on top! Easy peasy right?
I seriously made all of them in like 2 1/2 hours and that included cutting and sanding the wood. And all for just pennies really.
The website where I found the idea is So Lovely Creations. Check her out, she has some super fun ideas for so many things, and she has an etsy shop too. (but you can make it yourself for tons cheaper!) :)
