Wedding Gift

My daughter's teacher got married last Friday and quickly we needed to come up with a gift idea!  I found this idea on the Wood n Stitches etsy site and liked it.  I only added the name and year on the bottom.  Such a cute idea, I love that lady's creations!  The finished product was 12x15".  I just did it on scrap MDF I had left over from the family rules board.  I love it when I don't have to go out and buy anything for projects!  Especially last minute ones like this!

Anyway, I've been crafting like crazy lately.  Been stuck in bed with this pregnancy and it's one of the things I can do while laying down and my craft table will raise high enough and slide right over part of the bed, so I can paint, sew, whatever.  I'm sure thankful for little blessings like that, or I'd probably be addicted to every reality tv show and soap opera on these days.  :)

Family Rules Sign

A month or two ago, our little craft group made Family Rules Signs.  Some of us did personalized ones and some of us did this version.  Chatty Walls did the vinyl.  It's $20, and we just used it as a stencil, we all chose different paint colors and they all turned out so fun and different!  I got the 20" scroll on top from McFrugal.

It is a large project, but so fun, and it's hanging in the hallway and is the first thing the kids see when they come home from school.  I was hoping it would temper the fights and arguments my 4 monkeys have been having......I'm still waiting to see the results.  Hehehe.  The wood is cut out of a large sheet of MDF.  The measurements are 20"x32".  I also routered the edges of mine, but I don't think the others did.  Here are a few other examples of the other ladies boards, lots of fun ideas!

Happy Halloween Stackers

We did a bunch of these stackers a couple weeks ago with out craft group.  They turned out so super fun!  I love the whimsical little characters.  Chatty Walls did a fantastic job!  These are on 2x4's, but many of the women did theirs larger on 2x6's.  It was such a fun and super quick project.  I love those kind, especially when I am giving a bunch of them out as gifts.  Makes me happy.  :)  If you are interested in the vinyl part of it, just contact Chelon at Chatty Walls.

Boo! Wooden Letters

I have some really kind, sweet friends who cut these letter out and collected fun scrapbook paper together to have a craft day for a few of us stay at home mom's.  I KNOW how much work goes into using those saws and they did many sets, you all are wonderful!  Thank you!!!  The idea came from Maria at You Craft Me Up, the woman seriously has some fun ideas, if you've never checked out her blog, do, she does the funnest things!
I think she actually did her letters smaller, these are 16" tall, and I think hers are 12".  They turned out so fun though, and I can't wait to see how all the ladies embellish theirs differently from one another.  That's the fun part!  Thanks for a day out of the house ladies!
