I was able to finally finish a baby quilt last month, that I started 5 months ago. One of Dave's friends at work had a little girl and I love to make them all quilts when they have little ones. So fun! It usually takes me 1-2 days to finish, but boy morning sickness hit hard and I just couldn't do it. It stopped about the time I was 23 or 24 weeks along and so I was able to quickly finish it, and I'm so glad I did because then a whole other set of "fun" pregnancy trials started after that. Hehehe, anyway, one of the great things about baby quilts is it uses up lots of scraps from other projects. Last year I made Emmaline's kindergarten teacher a quilt and had just enough left over of each fabric ( like 1/3 yard of each) to whip out a baby quilt. I think it turned out bright and fun and I guess even though it was a way late gift, it is only now starting to get chilly enough to use it, so it's ok right? Hehehe.
A gal at church sent out a "crafts wanted" email for her daughters special needs school, and I was so very excited to do it and have something I could do while resting! I made a few things for kids rooms, a few Thanksgiving crafts and a few Christmas ones. It was fun! I'm always so grateful to have the opportunity to serve, and the blessings I get in return always seem to far out way the service provided.
