Grandparents House Rules Board

This Grandparent's House Rules board was a super fun one to make.  It would be super cute with words highlighted in different colors too.  I bought the design file from My Vinyl Designer.
It's a super fun one you can do for Mother's Day/Father's Day/Grandparent's Day.
They have a Nana/Papa version too.  Super cute idea.

This one I made is on a 1x10x24 pine board.  I used brown paint, and then used the vinyl as a stencil and then painted the lettering on with a cream color.  I ripped the vinyl off and sanded it to distress it on the edges and a bit over the top too.  Super fun!  :)

The Stars at Night are Big and Bright....

I've been wanting to make these two signs for a good long while now.  So glad I finally got around to it!  They are both made on a 1x12x12 piece of pine.
I used Americana Napa Red paint on both.
The top one of the state of Texas was done as a 2 part stencil.  First the chevron pattern was painted in white and gray, and then when that was dry, I did a stencil of the state of Texas in red and hand painted the heart on.  If I were to redo it, I think I'd go with a lighter gray so that it wouldn't show through the red.  I had 3 coats of red on there, and the color was getting too dark for my liking so I stopped.  Anyway, I'm still pretty happy with it.  :)
The hey Y'all sign was done using the fonts KG Strawberry Limeade, and a simple Times Bold font.  I like it so much. :)

Teacher Appreciation Ideas

These are the gifts, plus two more that aren't shown here, that I'm going to give to my kids teachers this year for Teacher Appreciation Week.
This first one is a design I've seen on Pinterest.  I loved it and tried to recreate it, I had to change a font because it wouldn't cut in vinyl nicely, but I still like it so much.  This one is on a 1x12x12 board.  It's painted black, and I used the vinyl as a stencil and just used white paint, then ripped the vinyl off.
This is the board I've done for years, my design that I'm pretty darn proud of, except this year I changed one font (it cuts a lot cleaner) and updated the swirl too.  I love it!
For the past couple years I've been giving the teachers monogrammed Hand Sanitizer too.  The large jars come from Sams Club, and then I just cut the monogram out of whatever is that teachers favorite color and tie ribbon and tulle around the tops.  Super easy and quick craft....except getting the labels off the jars is plain awful.  But, that's ok.  It's still worth it.
My last craft is this board.  It is on a 2x8x8 board.  I saw this saying floating around pinterest also and had to get it on a board.  It made me laugh.  :)

6 foot Young Womens Theme Board

A friend asked me quite awhile ago if I could design the Young Womens Theme to fit a 6 foot board, and I thought, why haven't I done that before now??!!  I would love that in my girls room, instead of the poster that falls down constantly and has ripped corners from younger siblings getting a hold of it.  ;)
So this is what I came up with.  It is on a 1"x12"x6' pine board.
The center portion with the values on it is on a separate board.  I routered the edges of the values board to give it more dimension and character.  I also painted the values in their assigned colors.
I used moulding from Lowes on the top and bottom of the board and then there are two teeny tiny little strips next to the moulding.  If you look close in the picture you can see, the first is a scallop, and the one just under it is little raised bumps.  Those are from Michaels.....on the doll house supply aisle.  They have some REALLY cute petite mouldings that are perfect for crafts on that aisle.
The font I used for the entire board is KG Strawberry Limeade and it's free.  You can find it HERE.
Here's a pic of the finished 6 foot board.  I really love how it turned out, and it's a lot more sturdy than the poster!
